04-21-2011, 08:05 PMHey Gardo I just spoke to Brett at PIT, great guy! I asked him a question through PIT's website (dropping your name of course) and he called me back in about 5 minutes! We had a great conversation about bikes in general and he answered all my questions about Tha Heist. He seemed to be a very honest and straight up guy who just gave me the facts which is refreshing. Seems there are a lot of exciting things instore for CCW and PIT coming up, thats all I can say for now.
I might try to make it down there this weekend, hopefully there won't be a freaking monsoon going on again like last Saturday.

Excellent news JK3, the guys at PIT are all great, they're not really "Sales" guys they are Riders and gear heads. They have a lot going on right now.

couldn't resist took the bike out today for an hour, was a bit chilly but the new jacket is really warm, just should've changed out of the leather cons first.
just added to the Widow the new mirrors, a set of black dice with red dots for the plate bolts and valve stem covers, and did a right side vertical plate mount that attached to the axle.
Actually thinking i might wrap the pipe in black tomorrow will post a pic later.

Gardo.
Do you have a white light on the tag? I thought you were going to move the tail light to the side also. Never seen your arrangement before.
Can you see anything out of those mirrors?

Heh heh - that was my first thought, too.
Your bike is looking very very nice!! I really like what you've done with it.
Pipe wraps just don't do it for me - they look like the goofy repair jobs we used to do on the farm! But don't listen to me - I'm an old geezer that still gets excited by chroming everything.

Dont need the White light on Bikes in NJ but the plate needs to be visible. I'm playing with the config a bit. I have actually grown to like the the tail light up there. Lots of the bikes I've been spying has it moved. So why not be different. i actually may move the light further back on the fender and chop it some more.
I like the side plate mount but I'm still iffy about it. And nope those mirrors are totally useless for everything but looking cool.
I never use them when riding anyway, I always swivel the noggin to check, double check, triple check then go
LJH Thanks for the compliment she's a work in progress and the vision of her is almost there. I was thinking of just wrapping the header pipe and leaving the muffler alone. will try it and see what it looks like and if i like it it stays and if not well 2hrs and $50 USD lessoned learnedGardo northern NJ/NYC

04-23-2011, 10:22 PMLookin good Gardo! Going to try to get to PIT next weekend, today was a total washout. I'm guessing the axle nut is on that side, a lot easier to to install then taking the whole axle out. According to some, the wrap keeps the exhaust gasses hotter throughout the pipe and can increase exhaust gas velocity to create a little more power. Don't know if it applies to this motor but it looks cool as hell on a bobber.
Be careful with the side mount, I broke a few of them on the HD, they seem to just snap off from vibes and wind buffeting. Hopefully you've got a nice thick plate with some reinforcements at the bend. The angle you have it mounted might help, it's not just sitting up straight like a sail.
