I am checking on availability
Here are some images of the bike.the version for USA distribution.
The bike is small though and under powered for mebut it would have a collectable potential, I am sure they will not sell well and that they (who ever that is) likely would not import that manythat is what offers it a higher potential for becoming a collectable.
SYM is in death spiral..it may take a couple of years for it to recover..the rep at Lance said he had no idea the bike passed EPA? He had to go online to see what it was, sad very sad.
That little bike would be great bike for a collector.

SYM Twain is the parent company behind Xiamen Xiashing Motors China, they use that facility to manufacture products for both Chinese domestic sales and also for export sales. But they also sell OEM services and the same products offered as SYM are being offered under other brand names. But there is a line they do not cross, some of the product sold in the USA are made in Taiwan and some are made in china. But then what is sold in china is all made in china. That actually hurts their brand name in china, other manufacturers are having similar problems. The major brand names used on Chinese manufactured products can hurt the brand name.it only represents quality if it actually is better quality.
It's not the brand that makes it a quality product, its the business process behind that brand, if implemented and held to, it can improve the products. If not then it can damage the brand names reputation.
Just because they look the same does not mean they are the same..the Chinese are all about cheap and fast not about quality.

I am using the EPA list of motorcycles, within that list is two classification Type I and Type II.
Type II are a total market segment within that are major player and minor players.
Two of the up and coming are SYM and Kymco, which are Taiwanese.
But the EPA does not offer a complete picture of these manufactures global share of the total global market. Only a slice of it that is American.
But SYM is different to Kymco as they also manufacture in China, they offer OEM services to other brand names that are sold in the USA. Kymco may also do that but nothing in the EPA list demonstrate that.
There are two data fields that tell you that, it’s the manufacturers name and then the OEM name. If they are the same and all are for Kymco then the products they offer are all Kymco brand made in a Kymco factory.
There are no wholly owned foreign investments in Chinese motorcycles. There are in other countries but simply not any in china.
Some models are a Chinese company and the OEM the same Chinese company. Then when the products are offered for sale they sometimes do not disclose a brand name?
But the SYM Chinese products, they do they disclose, as the OEM and as Xiamen Xiashing Motors.
So if you looking at total market share of Class II motorcycles by association they have more then one may think and some of those may actually be sold online? The only way to know that is the through the VIN number and the leading characters being LXM.

Things to know before buying.whats the VIN and then also any warranty claims must be underwrittenwho underwrites it? SYM in the USA is real good example they offered a 2YR warranty and subsequently closed off distribution to parts of the USA and also Canada? So who now handles the warranty and related service claims?
Class II motorcycles seem to be all about a 2nd class? Many are dancing around regulations and dodging any liability. The only reason the federal government has a class II is to cut them slack on emissions. It does not make them exempt to any other regulation or legislation.
They placate the consumer and often not in the consumers best interest. Doing it right getting it right keeps the government off their collective backsignoring and avoiding and in some instances blatantly breaking the law brings about more and more legislation and regulations.

The 150 Classic, while nice, was a little underwhelming even for beginners. I saw the point of it being imported by a scooter company to attract someone who was thinking of a 125/150 scooter, but would rather have a motorcycle once they looked around the dealership, but this bike looks alot more interesting! Kind of pricey, considering the Japanese competition (Suzuki TU250/GW 250, Honda CBR 250/300, Kawi Ninja 300, etc)

SYM will have to offer up a better discount on their T2 in order
to get people to buy them, the CB300F is only $200.00 more.
