from the reports I am reading the competitors are very impressed with the terrain they are riding in China ( the dunes section/stages are the best they have ridden/drove in the world) and the response they are getting from the Chinese people is amazing

Three more stages to go and there in Beijing(couple more days I think.) That would be something to see.

The Taklamakan Desert is the second largest in the world with about 750kms of nothing but dunes. It' really is an amazing place.

Pavey seems like he's having a difficult but good time there. Where are you reading the reports and don't be bashful about posting pictures!

and they post a report/video of the previous day on youtube under transorientale.

They have passed through the Taklamakan desert a couple of days ago their now in the Gobi desert which I think they started in Xinjiiang and continued through the Gobi into Inner Mongolia by all reports the Gobi is better than the Taklamakan desert.

Yeah and they have a new "Live" view feature which tracks the contestants on a sat-map. Pretty groovey!

Also, here's some video. I think you guys will like this!

    - Stage 13 -

If you've seen my film, you'll know a lot more about the terrain and cultures these guys are riding through. Wish I was back out there. It looks like a proper good time!

I am trying to get a photo of Bike #5 Simon Pavey BMW.

If Anyone is going out today to see the rally come to Beijing.

Would well be worth a look if you lived in Beijing.
