The Washington Post just recently publish and article by Jonathan Mummolo who discusses the increase in motorcycling as commuters try to save on gas.

Although you get your stereotypical reference to the rebellious outlaw image of the 60's and 70's, Mr. Mummolo recognizes that this is changing and the economic and convenience factor of two wheels is slowly becoming a massive driving force.

It also mentions that as the economy grows tighter, new bike sales are generally slowing but 250's are selling out like hot cakes.

    Quote and article link below:
    ---------------------------
"But as commuters seek relief from rising fuel costs and worsening congestion, what might have seemed like a foolish risk of youth -- braving highway and rush-hour traffic on two wheels -- might seem like a worthwhile trade-off."

Thanks for the link, Carl. As far as the subject--yeah, DUH! Motorcycles are efficient machines for the most part--especially ones at 200-250cc's! The very outdated reference to the 60's and 70's was not needed, as we all know that the majority of Harley riders today are accountants, lawyers, and the like! We discussed mileage on Chinariders a couple years back, and I remember members commuting getting 75 to 80 mpg on their Roketas and Lifans. Heck, I think I should freelance and put stories together from members of this site and chinariders, and mention how people are buying motorcycles and scooters in droves, complete with quotes from snortin' norton and others .

Do it man! Don't just do it for us and Chinariders, do it for everybody.

Crank it out. I'm sure we'd all love to see it! Come to think of it, I still haven't seen your profile write up. Again...better to do it before you get old and die!
