Nothing to do with china or bikes at all but this afternoon my microwave just decided to catch fire and kill me; nasty, probably very toxic fumes filled the room in just seconds while I was dozing in front of the fire, blown around by the in-built fan. Fortunately it was on a slate tiled and backed bench and nothing else ignited.

I nearly didn't wake up enough because the fumes knocked me out, it was the firework show of sparks and noise roused me after a while and I only just crawled to the door in time and lay there panting and coughing up shit. What the F do they make them out of? Made me realise how close the line is sometimes ... [shiver]

    Jape,

Jeez, what a fright! Hope you are all right. Any idea what caused it to self-immolate? Were you using it at the time?

To put this marginally on topic, what are the chances the microwave was NOT made in China? Close to zero. And possibly made by a company that also makes motorcycles.

Suggest you sleep with the windows open tonight!

    cheers

    Yup, Chinese made.

I was just warming up some vanilla water in it on a which I do weekly to clear the curry and other smells from it because my kitchen is a side part of a larger lounge room. Yeah, quite a shock as the thing is only slightly marked, small bulges and cracks inside the casing and some slight smoke marks. That would have taken the forensic police a good while to work out when my decomposing body was found in weeks to come ...

Whatever the fumes were knocked me right from drowsy to only just able to crawl across the floor in at most two minutes which was all it was set for.

So if anyone ever wants to get rid of the missus I can supply brand-name and instructions ...

I have a headache, so it had an affect, but all doors and windows are open and I have been for a walk. Sorry guys, better luck next time! I don't really think it was conspiracy and set off by remote though!

Yeah, you are right - Pirates of the Caribbean was meant to be on channel 63 and instead it is showing a demonic possession on 'Unsolved Mysteries' ... the bathroom light bulb blew and the pilot light on the gas water heater went out all on its own but no wind tonight ... time to get off this computer in case it bites me. Tomorrow I will get the Holy WD40 Spray out and address the issue, hopefully I will get through the night OK.
