These are more interesting to me, all they need is for all the plastic and decals to be removed. They need a round standard headlight, better meter cluster and a piece to cover were the fairing married to the gas tank and set of mirrors
They are also manufactured by Donfang
This model offered by Xinling Motorcycle has the 250cc rebel type engine, but it has the same tank and as you can see the bike looks better without all the bullshit. The model is very common and is sold under many brand names.
A meter set, headlight and mounting bracket and tank cover is all is needed.

12-04-2011, 10:06 AMMJH - where do you long-time members buy your parts online. My scooter eats illumination lights, i.e., speedometer, fuel, tach gauges. I even went to the 5 volt rather than the installed 3 volt. However, after taking the damn dash off a gazillion times, the fuel, speedometer, tach needles no longer work. I ordered an entire new assembly. This could get interesting.

I have never had to buy any parts, only oil filters.
Is it vibrating? Is the cluster vibrating allot? When you ride it put your hand on it and see if it is vibrating. Vibrations can break the filaments in the bulbs.

12-04-2011, 11:26 AMMJH - I think the electrical/fuse system is hosed up. The gas seal inside the bulbs (Chinese installed) gets a leak and the bulb turns silver/cloudy. I think I'm good to go now. Thanks.

12-04-2011, 11:27 AMMJH - Actually the needles themselves no longer move. I guess I can't get them to seat anymore.

All the parts and related document in a database, then track each for failure. Send that information back to the factory to address.
A customer should be able to go online and see all related documents, schematics, wring diagrams, parts lists all linked to a VIN that defines a specific model in or as part of a specific production run.
Then as a part fails it records that as a metric (a measurement as a percentage of the total) over time.
From the date of registration to the end of use, what failed, then the goal is to make the number of failures zero for as long as possible.Last edited by MJH; 12-08-2011 at 04:00 PM.
