Awful videos...
The U lock on 3rd video does a good job at delaying them, also forces them to show up with bolt cutters...
I'll buy one of those.
It also seems like putting it close from the ground give thieves a good lever with the bolt cutter, one arm on the ground and pushing together with all their weight on the other arm, they get a big deal of cutting power.
Best getting a U lock that crosses the swing arm or the suspension, or that they just can't bring close from the ground...
I'll also buy a bigger chain I think, as the one he had was easy for them.
The last video is the saddest one to me, 30 seconds he started it and broke the Neeman.
But there was no wheel lock...
I wonder how they'd deal with disk locks, as it's still not common here.

09-03-2011, 10:00 AMOK, here's another "instructional" video on bike theft, this one about bicycles being nicked in London. Sorry it's in youtube, so you'll need to warm up your grannybuster to watch. But some good info!
cheers

Haha - an electric fence hook-up is a good idea, but probably quite illegal in the UK.
In China, legality isn't the key concern ... more likely, within a few hours some enterprising neighbour would have run a wire from the bike to his apartment's air conditioner, fridge, TV, etc.
