I'm always interested in what Crazy Carl is doing, so i signed up here to see what going on over there. I live in southern California, and love the old NX250 or even better the AX-1s.........and found it very interesting that that Dual overhead cam motor is coming back.
Its one cylinder off of A honda VF1100 that I have been riding for 10 years. I love that motor and would seriously consider buying that new Chinese 250cc version if I could get it over to the USA.

Here's what I've been doing lately.

and a ride photo album for some variety for you folks.

    The Springer man!

For those of you who don't know Pete, we'd all be so lucky as to live the life he's currently living. This dude is a serious dual sport rider we can all learn something from.

I was excited to see that engine get revived as well and hope they make something interesting out of it. It's so versatile you could put it in any kind of setup from street standard, to "sport" bike to motard to you name it. I wonder if they have licensing rights to sell it overseas or if they've technically changed it enough to be different. Either way, Honda should have continued using that engine...maybe they'll bring it back themselves?

You can see the exploded view of the bike in the ChongQing motor show thread as well as some close ups of the engine.

Where in S. Cal are you from? I am in Yuma, AZ. That Shineray 250 (I think that is what you're referring to) looks very, very promising for the Chinese industry.
