so. i know i've disappeared from these forums for a while (again), but i'm back and hopefully this'll be a permanent thing.. never enough people to shoot shit with on the intarwebz

i thought i'd let you guys know what's been going on and why the delay, etc. i've not given up on getting a bike, but it's been a bit of a struggle to find the time and finance to make this happen.

long story short, i started a part-time job which quickly became full-time + over-time, got bumped up to full-time pay, 12 hour work-days took over my life with little money to show for it. i even stopped running my own events for the past few months!

plan of action? i've quit my job. now that i have the finances to finally get a bike (i've now decided on getting a QJ150-19A in Benelli green! ), I find myself running out of time..

..because I'm moving to Xi'an in under 2 weeks, for 4 months!

i'm scrambling to get my license before I go, applying tomorrow and will fly back to beijing to take the tests if i have to. Just went out to buy my helmet, some gloves, a jacket and protective gear for the knees today so you KNOW i'm gonna make this happen this time :)

anyways, just wanted to say hello to everyone again.. i've missed being around on the forums!

    that is all.

I like those new Qjiangs, you can totally recognise the benelli family look in the headlight! What's the asking price for those? Do you reckon you'll have it in xian?

Best of luck with all the license shit anyway, it's worth it in the end i swear.

I think you made an intelligent choice….

When and if in future you decide to get a more powerful motorcycle…by then maybe the 600cc may be available for you?

They also have a “D” version of the QJ150-19

Asking price is around 8,000rmb, rounded up.
I considered buying the Qjiang in Nov from Beijing and then riding it up to Xi'an, dunno if i'd be confident enough or if it'd be a good idea to make that journey straight off a new bike though.. so maybe i should wait 'til i'm settled back in Beijing before I get it.

Went out to Laoshan today to hand over 2,360rmb for the application of my license.. can't wait to receive their call to confirm the written test date, really want to have this done before I go.
Gotta study hard in the meantime, so much to memorize :S

As a reward, I allowed myself to spend even more money, and bought myself a body-amoured jacket from the shop down the hill from Laoshan

That D version sure looks sexy.. does it come in green?

a relaxing, down-tempo mix i recorded (not so) lately..

now that is one nice looking bike there, the engine reminds me of a Loncin or a Zontes.

Hi - I see that, like me, you have been seduced by the good looks of the QJ150. I searched in vain for some useful info or ride reports both here and elsewhere, but in the end took the plunge based on intuition and a couple of test rides from different sellers. I only got it a couple of weeks ago, and still running-in so sadly I can't tell you a great deal, other than it is still going strong. Despite those Italian good looks, it is more of a nongmin che than a thoroughbred underneath, which suits me perfectly, but not the fastest thing on two wheels, and I have already destroyed the pretty lines by putting on the biggest top-box money will buy. I will post a full report of my buying, plating and riding experience once I have had a bit more time on it, but so far (and for the money) it has been a good choice. Like you, I had my heart set on the green one until the moment came to hand over the money, when for some inexplicable reason, I went for the orange one... Will you do the same??
Either way, have fun and ride safe.

Good luck with that nice looking bike & the Laoshan exam (you'll ace it).

One of my Chinese ex-students wrote through Laoshan yesterday. Total group size was about 20 for MCs. She was the only girl and also the only one to score 100%. Out of the entire MC group, only 2 failed (1 for the 2nd time). There were about another 20 writing for a car license, and almost half failed. All the MC writers who passed already had a car license.

The ride to Xi'an is easily doable if you stay away from the expressway.

    Again, good luck!
