Heros’ top model today is currently the Karizma ZMR, on the road price in India is about $2,200.00 USD.

The engine is the Honda 223cc OHC, PGMI and an oil cooler 17.6HP @70000rpm 18.3Nm@6000 0-60kmph is 3.7 sec…which would be 0-38mph in the west or 0-60mph in 6.0 sec....maybe?

Hero has purchased a 49.2% share of Erik Buell Racing.
Buell’s engineering staff has been consulting Hero’s research and development staff.

No plans to co-brand, seems that hero simply wants the technical knowledge that they lost when divested from Honda, they now can export were as before they contractually could not.

Hero has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in the USA.

Basically Hero capitalized, EBR with 25M USD.
EBR bikes sell of 40K and that sets them way above Hero, so what fruit comes from this will be interesting.

They need to bridge up off the inherited Honda technology, Buell did reach down market and offer a single in the Buell Blast.

I wonder if it be possible for the engineers at EBR to offer the next engine to Hero without considering the Blasts engine and design?

For anyone curious about the title of this thread, go back and look at the immensely enjoyable YouTube Video in the first post, which I've linked in this post. This is not only really beautiful lifestyle advertising; it also demonstrates the enormous psychosocial distance between India and China. Imagine a lifestyle ad in China that celebrates the role of the motorcycle in everyday scenes of daily life!! Scooters and motorcycles are definitely used that way in China, but industry and government and the state-run media seem to be collectively so ashamed by this idea that they pretend that the motorcycle as a blessing of daily life doesn't even exist.

Sad. Or have I missed something?

Hero updated its Karizma for 2014...but it is not on their website yet, the ZMR version in white is rated closer to 20hp in addition to the new body work.

They have reached 50M unit sales to date....they now are offering a 5 year/70,000KM warranties.
Sales for 2013 are up 8% over 2012....they have the lions share of the Indian market.

EBR announced that it will be the USA distributor beginning next year for Hero MotoCorp.

EBR also will be offering its new 1190RX, its MSRP will be around $18,000.00 USD.

Now that EBR has been capitalized by Hero they will begin manufacturing around 1200 of their 1190RX per year. The manufacturing of the EBR 1190RX will take place in East Troy Wisconsin.
