09-26-2011, 04:05 AMCool! Another Aussie Kinlon! Welcome to the forum, and do have a squiz with the advanced search function in the upper right corner, and use kinlon as a keyword. You'll find at least two other Kinlon mavens in your patch with tons of experience with the Kinlon.
Keep us posted as to how you get along.
Oh, and house rule No. 1: Yours is a vaporbike in this forum unless you post pix. Doesn't exist. Where in Oz are you based?
cheers!jkp

09-26-2011, 08:08 AMyou'll be pleased to know there are 34 threads in MCM with "kinlon" in the title. used advanced search, type kinlon into the search field, and be sure to have it restrict search to threads with kinlon in the title. there's even one in there about sourcing parts.....
good luck.jkp

Hey guys,
Long time no see.
I am back from my 18 month holiday and am now commuting daily on the trusty Kinlon. New tyres (Pirelli Sport Demon rear and Bridgestone BT-45 front) have made a huge difference to the turning and stopping power, and the overall connection with the road. A must for a commuter who goes to work rain, hail or shine.
The little red rocket handled the 18 months in the shed really well. I just put some air in the tires, a little WD-40 down the spark plug hole, and she fired up on the third kick.
The only problem I have now is the exhaust header and mid pipe have rusted up to buggery. Has anyone found a complete exhaust system that fits the Kinlon? Or nearly fits? I have a mate who is a boiler maker so bending stuff to fit will be sweet, but I would like to avoid having to cut and re-weld. So the right length and general shape would be the aim.
Anyone know if the FMF kits or similar that might fit? What about other brand bikes like the Qinqi, has anyone done a complete system change?
Cheers,
Marty.
P.S Here is me in Chiang Mai on my holiday:
