Here's the prestigious Italian trials bike maker BETA presenting the gorgeous 2008 Alp 200 model.
It weighs 25 kg less than the Qingqi/Qlink at 101 kg and some bodywork, seat and other equipment can be quickly detached to turn it into an entry-level trials machine.
Notice the overall similarity to Qingqi QM200GY/ Qlink XF200 dual sport models?

It has a Suzuki DR200SE engine, so it's probably made by Qingqi like all the other small Suzuki engines. I did wonder if the whole bike is made in China but a close look shows it has things like Paioli forks, etc, so they probably just get the engine.

As for value for money, it costs 4,162 € against my Qingqi at 1,850...

The site has brochures, manuals, parts lists, etc for this model. I did note that the carb is given as a 31mm and not a 28 mm like the Qingqi version, but this company doesn't consider it important to give torque or HP figures. A quick search gives the power output to be anything from 15 to 20 HP, so who knows?.

These bikes would make a great entry level trials bike in that they are easier to use than the full blown trials bike.

I got beaten on Sunday in a trial by an elderly gentleman on Scorpa's equivalent to this beta.

Very similar indeed. Definitely looks like a DR200 engine and frame. Since the frame and engine are basically very solid, it would make sense to just import those (and maybe the plastics) then add other higher end components like the fork, brakes, rotors, later then sell it for a good profit margin.

Really, the engine, frame and plastics are the most difficult to to manufacture and slapping on some exotic extras would make a nice bike!

Bigdamo, I didn't know you do trials riding! Got any pics of you in action?
