The two will sell over 600,000 this year combined, that is a lot of motorcycles.
I think the movement is more or less portfolio management, that is how I perceive South China Group, they are set to realize growth and will rearrange cooperatives to realize that growth.
I struggle with the strategy…actually just throw shit against the wall to see what sticks. That may be theirs as well?
Maybe it is related to a venture with Arctic Cat? http://www.arcticcat.com/sidexside/model/view/XT550I
They may plan to get into four wheels….

I think the Chinese Peugeots are so boring, maybe that is why they are not selling well?
The same with the Chinese Piaggio’s not quite as boring and seem to be selling better or at least not loosing money for Zongshen.
The Chinese version of a taste of France? That’s just so queer and the consumer is not going for it, are they?
At least Piaggio offers a decent looking sport bike albeit only a 150cc

Not sure what the Italian or the French brought to the table, but it certainly was not creativity…who is telling them that the Chinese are not creative or do not appreciate individual expression?

Polaris did buy the GEM from Chrysler, so they do have an interest in LSV’s.
"Off-road vehicle maker Polaris Industries Inc. said Monday that it has agreed to acquire a Chrysler Group LLC subsidiary that makes electric-powered vehicles."

Often great business models are discounted in a general market trend.
Gained 10% in the last ten days http://www.navchina.com/
If purchased in 2008 it gained 100%-200% depending on what point you exited.

I would say that, since they offer both A and B stocks it would tell you something if the variance is large between them.
A are offered to international investors and B are offered to national investors.
The stocks for Jinan are actually over valued the A that is, the B are or may be carrying them?
The A is at about $4.00 a share and the B at $ 0.40 a share
The company is not making a profit on sales, the launch of Peugeot only stores is expensive, it adds overhead to unit costs in a very competitive market. To justify chain stores requires more offerings and in that higher unit sales. That is because the staff and fixed costs to operate have to be offset by high unit sales.
It is possible that the Peugeot's are flying off the showroom floors…but just unlikely. If they are rotating slow they are or may be loosing money on each sale. They are loosing on unit sales out of the factories and the retail outlets are an extension of operations and not an efficient one.
