Virtually just three days ago I realized that this same engine (4V GS clone, that is) is used on two "Van-Van-ish" bikes: "Stels's" sub brand "Desna" - 220 "Fantom" (http://stelsmoto.ru/motocikly/desna-220-fantom/ ; yes, it is 200, not 220 cc), and "Racer Forester" RC 200 LT (http://racer-motors.ru/catalog/motor...ester_rc200lt/). Both are Russian brands, but I think that bike originates from YX. Whether the engine on both motorcycles comes from QJ - I don't know.

That engine is based off the Suzuki GS and it has different heads. Hyosung has a version of it in its Karion 125RT and it is a DOHC 4-Valve with 14.5hp, I do not believe that these versions at 199cc have a twin cam though only 4-valves. I do not believe that QJ and XY developed that engine in partnership, I would say they likely developed simultaneously.
Since the L Class in the UK has a 125cc and 15 hp limit, XY should have developed the 125cc DOHC IMO. They could have then had a line with that engine for the UK Market, which is a fairly large market.
QJ has both a DOHC 125 and 250 water cooled engines, however the 125cc seems to be limited to KSR? IMO QJ should offer a full line of L bikes with that 125cc.

It is very likely a 250 motocross standard will follow it, however the good people at QJ need to consider how a dual sport is at odd with their product lines persona. They should embrace an off-road division before offering such a model. They may want to consider shifting some of their production to that of off-road vehicles. In that it be about hiring experts in that segment and developing a comprehensive line from entry to competitive bikes. There is a huge segment in that, from little horizontal engines to that of 450cc rally bikes.
I wish that members so this site would stop using cliché terms so often. The beauty of being different is not so conventionally repetitive.Last edited by MJH; 07-01-2015 at 09:45 PM.

It’s kind of amazing how fast they are bringing bikes to production, they will likely sell allot of these since they got the price correct on them.
I am not crazy about the graphic on the Chinese model, this article has a version with better graphics, I personally do not believe the bike needs any graphics at all.
