I'm a native of The Dominican Republic and I've been around small displacement Asian motorcycles all my life. I have an auto service garage and after spending $1800+ in gas during ten months driving from my house to my business (3 miles round trip) I decided to get a bike. I love the HD Sporster, but they are too expensive so I'm thinking about the 250 Bobber RTB. I found this forum very helpful and has helped me to make my decision. Thanks specially to Barnone for such a good report on the 250 RTB!

    Greetings and welcome to MCM!!

Three miles round trip?? You are so fortunate to work so close to home--so close in fact that a bicycle would bring you even greater benefits! Yes, I love my motorcycles but I like them best for getting out of town. For virtually all of my travels here in town (a town of maybe 25 million, that is) I love my pushbike even more!

    Cheers!

Three miles every day of the year is only about a thousand miles a year, even if you drive a vehicle that only gets 12mpg that will only add up to about $300.00 in gas, if you did that on the bike you will save maybe $230.00 a year.

Then if you ride 2000 miles for fun, not to work your losing $140.00...you save $90.00 and that is all lost in insurance and other costs to operate it.

My daily driver is a Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9 Liter with the Mopar Performance PCM, she's thirsty and doesn't like to be in overdrive too much.
I'm looking to have a lot of fun with that little bike. I'm a tinker, and she looks like she can have some improvements.
