#1 Clanking sound when releasing the clutch at slow speed12-23-2011, 12:14 PM
Havent use the bike for about a week due to dead battery, now the battery is ok and running smoothly but at slow speeds to 5 to 20kmh, as i release the clutch a clanking sound coming from just under the engine, sounds like a loose metal thing inside a shaker (like bartenders use to mix drinks). do i need to worry about this? when going to more than 20kmh speeds the clanking disappears though......

no replies, but the sound disappears when I oiled the chain. seems like it only needs lubrication. ride safe.

12-25-2011, 07:31 PMmaybe one of the links was a bit stiffer than others or stuck? here's a good primer on chains and stuff.. >> http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...nfo-loose-ends
Also check the front sprocket, the retainer ring shouldn't be in good condition otherwise you will damage your transmission.
Here's an example of a worn out retainer >>
