#1 Kunshan and Suzhou02-08-2012, 03:03 AM
Thomas and I will move down south this summer to live in Kunshan or Suzhou.
We would like to have some information from our biker friends.
1. are there "no-bike-laws" or forbidden areas?
2. can you recommend good repair shops?
until now we ride 1 Harley Roadking, 1 BMW R1200C Sidecar and 1 ChangJiang Sidecar modified from Jim (BMW Engine)
if somebody knows a good real estate agent, speaking English, please send the contact to me also.
we are looking forward to explore southern Cina!!!!
with greetings from Beijing!

Your better off living in Shanghai if work is located around Kunshan / Anting area.
Bear in mind, Shanghai is not very biker friendly to out of town regoed motorbikes.
Someone mention the other week that Suzhou banned motorbike from certain districts as well?!?
Suzhou has a large, well stocked HD dealership, located at 19 Ligongdi Phase-3 Complex in Suzhou Industrial Park, operator is Taiwanese (search this forum).
Shanghai HD dealer: http://www.harley-davidsonshanghai.cn
Shanghai has few CJ dealers but have no idea on current level of service provided, gave my last CJ away as present 3+ years ago.

02-08-2012, 01:43 PMSuzhou downtown (Inside the 4 canals) : no bike allowed... been living there for 2 years and go to work with my bike without problem
Suzhou SIP I think that bike outside of Suzhou are actually not allowed... been riding there for 1 year (+ the 2 to go through to go to work) without any pb.
Not too sure about Kunshan though
Suzhou HD Shop can handle your big bore bikes
Also have a side car there with a guy that love's what he's doing so no worries
You can move without any fear in mind.
Real estate agents that are Foreign owned are bloody expensive but you can checkout to have an idea about the type of flats available:

Try to check out the chinese websites, better deals (google translate is your friend)
Any question, do not hesitate to drop me an email
