TMEC could be buying from some of the same suppliers, assembling in china and then exporting those as a CBU. The only difference is that Motorstar and Corven are imported as CKD units and assembled in the Philippines and Argentina respectively.

TMEC USA does not list Zongshen as its engine supplier to the EPA, which does not mean anything it could be a Zongshen engine. They have...

The Kasinski and Ryuka models mirror Zongshen models, the Motorstar and Corven do not, not all of them anyway, some may not be one hundred percent Zongshen components, they may only share or source some components from Zongshen.

The industry is not a straight line, it is a matrix system, many only offer a single component to the mix as a part or single service like an assembler or a wholesaler.

If TMEC is interjecting into Zongshens distribution affiliations, then they and their supply chain would be a logical acquisition for Zongshen. Theoretically, however the simplicity of the models are nothing special, the distribution channel is though.

The Corven version looks best….but basically they are all the same.

Here is a Motorcycle Thread here in the Philippines Discussing the IG-155Z (much of it in Tagalog, use Google Translator!)

    http://underbonesphilippines.com/for...c,29990.0.html

This says the Price on installments was Php61K

Obviously a 155cc version is going to have a bit more power and better suited to 'Cruising' with a pillion passenger and some luggage.

Put a 200cc Zongshen engine in it and it would be even better.

But until recently the Honda XR200 was the only mainstream large capacity bike in the Philippines. But with its retail price creeping up, to nearly Php140K now, these Chinese Dual Sport Bikes of 200cc, having Disc Brakes front and Back, and costing Php54-61K, are gaining in Sales. These Sales seem to be encouraging more bigger capacity Chinese Motorcyles to come in CKD and assembled here.

The XR200 has an MSRP in the Philippines of 137,900.00 Peso ($3,225.00 USD)

The Honda website has the XR200 engine as a 4 - Stroke OHV Air Cooled, however the image is of a OHC engine?

I came across this News Reports that link Racal Motor Assembly Corp toBASHAN:-

Chinese automaker to invest $8M in Phl assembly plant
    By Ma. Elisa P. Osorio

    Updated January 19, 2011 12:00 AM

MANILA, Philippines - Chinese auto manufacturer Great Wall Motor Co. Ltd. (GWM) will invest $8 million for the assembly of Chinese vehicles in the country, the Board of Investments (BOI) announced yesterday.

In an interview at the sidelines of the Chinese Business Mission yesterday at the BOI, BOI managing director Cristino L. Panlilio said that he has spoken with officials of Great Wall who said that they plan to build an assembly plant in the country.

The assembly plant will be done in partnership with Allen Roxas of State Motor Corp.

GWM is China’s first private automobile enterprise listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The Company has 30 subsidiaries.

There are already three Chinese auto manufacturers that are part of the Motor Vehicle Development Program (MVDP). The three firms who registered as participants of the MVDP for 2010 are Jianghuai Automobile Co. Ltd., GWM and Chonging Astronautic Motorcycle Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (BASHAN).

JAC entered into a technical licensing agreement with JAC Automobile International Philippines Inc. for the supply of KD kits, KD parts and components for the assemble and manufacture of one ton to three ton light trucks. JAC said it will start full production by January next year.

Likewise, JAC said they will manufacture and assemble trucks and buses with Jianhuai Automobile. BOI said that if JAC will be successful in this venture and sell 1,000 units of buses and trucks annually then they will again partner with Jainghuai Automobile for the assembly and manufacture of passenger cars.

JAC is a company listed in the Shanghai stock exchange and has been a comprehensive automaker with full line independent brand vehicles in China. It has an annual production capacity of more than 500,000 units.

BASHAN on the other hand has Racal Motor Assembly Corp. as its local partner for motorcycles parts and components.

BASHAN has an annual capacity of 500,000 units with a market oriented to Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guatemala, Salvador, South Africa, among others.

They also sell imported ceramic tile….RGC, that is.
    RACAL GROUP of COMPANIES.

    http://www.rgc.com.ph/
The$8M investment stated in the article is an investment that Great Wall is making, the relationship is the third type partnership in the Philippines Motor Vehicle Development Program (MVDP).

The Bashan and RGC venture is dated a year ago and one of the previous two parties to enter the MVDP.

Buying the CKD kits seems to be in vogue, a good way to get in the market and also create local jobs. Many countries have tiered tariffs that allow discounts in respect of the local value added through domestic assembly , but albeit these are often corrupted by special people in special groups. That raises a questions as to who gets access to the market, the MVDP is like that of a gate keeper. Is it good gate keeper or bad one?

Bashan has or at least it seems decent products, they have some cool little learner bikes, they are marketing in Europe.
