03-04-2012, 10:02 PMHey there everyone. I'm Steven and I live in Vegas. I moved to NV from FL and am enjoying myself in the city of sin. I signed up on this site because I plan on buying a chinese sport bike in a few months. I am looking forward to getting my D250RTC around my birthday. I have a lot of plans for it and hope to get some good reponses to the work I do to it. I will post a pic of the bike and color I hope to get.

03-05-2012, 02:21 AMThe moto is a Dongfang 250cc. It is marked to have 250cc with 18.77HP. I plan on dropping it, stretching it, put fender elimintater, flush mount signals, and maybe getting it jetted. I would like to get 22HP out of it if I can. I want it to compete with the ninja. That's my main goal, while showing people that you can mod a chinese bike too.

Thats nice a bike.
Is it DOHC and liquid cooled?
Is it 5 or 6 speed?

11kw @ 6500 rpm
229cc
That is what Dongfang Motor, Inc. submitted on their application to the EPA for that engine, that’s 14.96hp.
Unrestricted exhaust and increased jets can get you a 3% increase in hp.
http://www.epa.gov/otaq/cert/veh-cer...r-01-26-11.csv
ADGFC.278M3W-003
That engine does not have 18hp it likely does not even have the potential for 18hp.

given that these engines can happily rev to 10,000 rpm and the max power is stated at 6,500 rpm
if you increase the compression and inlet flow and change the cdi box for one with a more agressive curve
you can certainly get 18hp

It is a pushrod engine.good luck getting it to rev to 10,000, the point is always missed. How can they claim it is limited to 6500 rpm to the EPA and then sell it to the public directly contradicting the information they submitted to the EPA?

the usual method is to find a box from a performance bike such as a crf 150
you can see what is is doing by using a strobe light
the standard box will retard off the timing to stop the engine from revving
