Yes, nobody likes me . Not many riders down here these days, most people are working, getting married, having babies, or just too busy.

Euphonius, I think this was the first year in a long time that many others surpassed me in mileage, bikes and photos. I can't believe I only put one set of tires on the Wee in 2012. I've clocked about 6000 km's on my bicycles, and most of my other rides have been off road enduro riding with the TGR. My new daughter keeps me closer to home and busy as well.

    Cheers!

    G'Day,

The Ducati MTS1200S is truly a great remarkable high performance touring bike, fits me perfect and goes like wet sh#it of a shovel, my Italian Diva being a bit modified enhances the performance.
Being quite tall, I am unable to ride other Ducati's (or sports bikes / crotch rockets in general) comfortably for a long time and should have bought a MTS earlier, huge difference compared to all the HD's and BMW's I have owned in the past.

As of today, the Italian Diva is in winter hibernation sitting indoors in my home office after a good wash with my all time preferred S100 bike cleaner.......

Daughter?!?!?!?!?! Wow, congrats * 1,000. That is fantastic news! Daughters are great, until in about 16 years, when the grease balls in jacked-up black Camaros start showing up at your front door. Well, it seems the "wee" was indeed played with. (again, sorry, couldn't resist)

Always great to see your bike-porn pics for the rest of us to drool over ... as Mr Euph notes, you've got some serious motography skills!

August 2012, in the mountains south of Hangzhou, I got tired and needed to sleep, So her eis one of my camps (did 3,000km in about 2 weeks, no hotels just friends showers and the odd shower with a bottle of water in the middle of no where)

Should add that about 1000km later, in South Anhui I was riding for about 2 hours before I found somewhere to pitch the tent. Unfortunately, I got woken up around 6am by a bemused farmer with his tractor tapping on my tent. I had camped off the main road on a dirt road and found a place that looked like a clearing (at 3am) any how, It was the intersection from the guys house to his field and he was there to spray the crops.

He was a bit taken aback to see a westerner camping on his road but was fine about it and quite understanding about my poor chinese (when my mind is sleeping I can speak chinese or listen too well), and after a short convocation and me dragging my tent to one side, he went off to do his spraying.
I packed up, had breakfast and left with a beep of the horn, I got a wave in return. No pictures of this as when I was packed up I noticed my camera was inaccessible.

There is a stream down a dip just the other side of the tree that I was camped under, perfect for doing a bit of washing, however I wouldnt drink from it.

Getting the heavily laden 125 out of here was tricky, its not built as a dirt bike, but my god it gave as good as anything on this day (out of view of the photo is a small but vertical assent, I was beside my bike that was loaded with all my gear and spares for 2 weeks living on the road, the little iron horse managed to scale the mini cliff remarkably well. (the night before I thought the drop was allot smaller than what it turned out to be, headlights deceived me, I assumed it was 2 or 3 inches, it turned out to be 6 inches)

The best camp site was about 200kw south of this camp site, It was located in a mountainous region and had a mote, a spring, flat ground a bit bigger than tent size, the only draw back was that it was near a grave yard (I left my bike in the grave yard) I enjoyed it so much I stayed 2 nights, well, I stayed 1 night then on the second night a cop came and after checking over my fire (I provided the wood and barricaded it in with stones so as not to spread,) told me to make sure the fire was properly out before going to bed. I cleared up and was out within the hour leaving a patch of ground with nothing but a circular monument to show I had ever been there. (wasnt staying after my hidden layer had been discovered)

The worst camp site was in a town on the boarder, after searching for hours for a place to camp, I decided to just pull over along the street and sleep on my bike (head on handlebars, feel over a bag and the other bags on the floor, with a blanket over me). After 3 hours of bad sleep (trucks) I was awoken by mosquitoes eating my legs, neck and right arms and hand. I saddled up and carried on, for a while before finding a place to jump in a stream and wash the crap from the road off me (its horrible how black my face got each day/ night of riding, so every two days I would make sure I could at the least sit down hidden somewhere and use a few liters of water to wash my whole body)

Will I do it again now in 2013, HELL YES, It was a proper adventure, and I hope this time to find someone to go with.

PS THANKS MCM for giving me the advice on how to wire up a usb port onto the bike and so charge my phone. great advice.
just because something is possibly possible, does not follow that is it essentially essential.
