03-25-2012, 02:12 PMHello everybody!
I am new to the forum and I hope I am about to buy my first moto in China.
I am in Chongqing now and I was thinking about this: http://www.loncinie.com/Product11/Detailed45/
Any experience? Actually my first choice was the shineray x2x but after I tried it I really think it's a little to high for the chinese traffic...

03-25-2012, 03:28 PMWelcome to MCM! Being in Chongqing puts you in the Chinese motorcycle firmament. Take your time and shop around! You might even manage to visit the various factories. Loncin is there, and Jialing, and quite a few others.
Is this your first moto ever, or just your first Chinabike? If you're a newb, spend some time reading in these pages to get a sense about what's out there. You are not going to find a comprehensive range of choices as you would in most other countries, but there is a range of bikes, and some that are better suited to newbs, and some that will be more reliable and repair-friendly, with good availability of parts. And then there are others....
Incidentally, in my mind being high on a bike is a real advantage in traffic, as it affords visibility, and flexibility for getting off if and when you need to. I've not ridden the Shineray, but I've ridden with a Shineray rider, and saw that he maneuvered well on it, mainly because of its nice upright riding position (neither prone as with a sport bike nor recumbent as with a cruiser). Being upright gives you the greatest ability to finesse the bike through hazards.
Feel free to ask questions!jkp

I was under the impression that was an export model, the site your linking to is in English and the contact list is all relegated to regions outside of China.

See if you can find information on the model through this site.

03-25-2012, 11:42 PMIf I were you, living in Chongqing and interested in the Loncin line, I'd try to organize a visit to their factory to see what's "possible." maybe nothing, but maybe something. I know a guy at Loncin who I met while getting kicked off an expressway in Chongqing. PM me and I can try to make an introduction. By the way, what are you doing in CQ?
There is at least one Loncin factory visit report in MCM. Would be great to have a new one!
Cheersjkp

03-26-2012, 04:00 PMHi all!
I somewhat work in the field and I already visited for my job some of the CQ factories (Loncin, Jiailing, Shinereay, Zongshen and a couple of others).
Unfortunatly my company would not be happy at all knowing me wondering around with a motorbike... so I prefer to keep it hush and don't use any contact who I might have (and I guess they are not so usefull anyway).
I visited a shop and they had the 200cc readly available. They told me they could get the 250 in 1 week and registered in another one: is there some reason I should not belive them?
Mjh: that thing is pretty disgusting :-) In the shop they had the brand "Kinlon", and it seemed the same as I linked.
Anyway I'll keep you informed... first thing I need my driving licence!
