#1 Fork Seal05-13-2012, 04:01 PM
Just noticed today that there is an oil leak from my front left fork on my PULSE ADRENALINE. I don't understand why this is happening the bike is less than 1 year old and I am not harsh on the forks by this I mean I don't wheelie, do stoppies or bop the kurb. Has anyone else had this problem or no I cheep or long lasting way to fix it thanks

This is just a Chinese bike. They use cheap seals which are prone to fail. If you can do the work yourself they are very cheap to fix. Unfortunately the labour costs in the UK are very high, meaning changing the seals could be expensive.

Same problem here on my qingqi which has the same forks as you. First was the right leg last year leaking oil, this year it's the left. I'm not going to get any kudos for this but here's what i did about it:
Nothing.
I can get new seals easily enough in china, but still don't know any mechanic in xi'an that i would trust to pull the forks apart. Now that they don't leak anymore i have to presume that all the oil is gone, but i haven't noticed a big difference in the ride. Somehow there still seems to be some damping in the forks.
Not really bothered wasting the whole week of my life it'll take to get this problem fixed out here.

05-30-2012, 02:04 PMI had the problem, I bought the seals for £7 pound on ebay and then some fork fluid from halfords for £7. It was a bit fiddly but I managed to do it with no fancy tools. this is the link i used to refrence to where posible when doing it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y43k1qFVGW4 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9ICr...feature=relmfu. there isnt a measurment for the amount of fluid to put back into the forks but I filled them up so the spring was just covered and did this to both forks, not had any problems since. The haynes manual was no use for measurements seeing as it covers a large range of bikes, I found.
Good luck.
