Jonway "Kung Fu" 250 BMW Clone for sale in the US!

A while ago we talked about a find looking BMW clone Jonway which looked like a prototype bike covered in the MCM ChongQing 2008 report.

I didn't actually believe it would arrive on NA shores but here it is...in a rainbow of colors and badged the 250 "Kung Fu" MC-02 for $1798.00

330 Lbs = 150KG

That's pretty reasonable for a Chinese 250 twin.

Is that a copy of the Honda classic CB250/CMX250 twin engine? (actually 234cc)

It sure looks like a resurrected Honda engine but I'm not sure. 330lbs is still a bit heavy I think for a 250, but I suppose as long as you aren't talking high-performance riding then it should be quite comfortable.

I wonder if they'll sell?

I really don't think it's too heavy, if we take a YBR250 as a benchmark at 138KG and factor in the fact it's a got a twin engine. That's 12KG more. For a Chinese manufacturer that is OK. Knowing Chinese the way I do they seem to think the way things look is very important and providing a choice of colors that will never sell, whereas foreigners are running around doing power to weight conversions and looking to adjust shocks and extract an extra few hp and removing unnecessary weight.

But the motards and dirt bikes are much lighter than that, which is why they are so good.

I don't like how they did the two-into-one exhaust or how terribly exposed to damage it is, but it is not ugly. That bike actually looks good in light blue.

It looks like it carries most of its weight high up. I guess it's not too heavy but I'm just thinking a DR650 is only about 370lbs so I'm wondering about the power to weight ratio on it. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how well it sells!
