Hey guys, i don't know if this is unnaceptable or out of order coming from someone who is inactive when riding season is over or bikes been stolen. Was just thinking that if all the shanghai bikers could somehow have a simple way to all be in touch it would be cool for planning short trips out f the city for the weekend. With this in mind i created a facebook page. It will become useful only when we have a good few members. Otherwise maybe we could use this page. If you just post if your here and what you ride. Then when we want to go out we can just post it here and not have to keep starting new threads. Again if this is somehow pointless or just bad form dont hesitate to shoot me down gently.

Isn't this MCM forum enough already, yes!
Does everyone operates or is a member of a$$book, no!
Do I need to advertise every daily motorbike ride or list all the motorbikes owned. no!
Do i want a riding mate every time I take a motorbike out for a ride, no!

Have a nice weekend, taking a bike for s spin right now.......

haha, ok TB. I've edited my previous post to include the word "gently" right after the words "shoot me down". It's PAL all over again.

    Dear Clegg,

I have a FB account, but find it utterly baffling to use. Another problem is that not everyone in China has a veepeeyen to access FB.

I'm partial to using MCM to announce rides, since it's a place I look every day whether the veepeeyen is running or not.

The thread you started could work fine, or maybe start one titled "Shanghai Ride Alert" where we could all announce rides we'd welcome others to join. Anyone who subscribes to that thread would get an email every time someone posted a ride. Could also have Ride Alert pages for other cities.

I like the idea of MCM being the center of China riding and Chinabike news. Look at what happened to the CCW tha Heist thread after someone started a FB page. Some of the active audience abandoned MCM, and a thread that once was very hot cooled.

I'll have a look at your FB page and maybe this will change my mind.

By the way, are you back on a bike of some type?

    cheers!

Cool! Yea dude, I bought Ekkie's little 150, I posted about it on the QianJiang 150 page. And yea, I agree, I think it could work too and is actually a great idea, every major city should have a page like this. The thing is they don't so I figured there must be something I'm missing.

    I like the idea.
But at the moment I am riding a CJ, but that should change soon.
It could be a little hard for me to keep up with any other bikes. Speed, break downs and stuck in traffic wise...
