Yeah, by law to get the Lams bike registered as a normal non restricted is difficult, but lets be honest, no one wants to actually go through that process, we all in Australia just want to unlock the power we paid for.... Difference between this bike and others is how they retard the power, most other bikes on the market are simply a stop put either on the throttle body or on the throttle itself, so all you need to do is remove this device but you will quickly be caught and fined by police because they can check this. If the CF moto 650NK can be unlocked it will be extremely popular for new riders in Australia because police would have no way to know this "unlock" has been done :)

I think depending on how it effects the warranty I will just get intake and exhaust done, take it to a dyno and get it tuned, I assume that process would "unlock" it.

Good time to launch a fresh thread on how to do this, given the numbers of 650NKs that apparently are being sold into Oz.

    • Are these all retarded LAMS bikes?
    • How long do you have to wear the retarded L on your forehead before you become a proper legal rider?
    • Once you are no longer a learner, why on earth would it not be permitted to legally unretard your retarded bike?
    • Is there any channel for legal grievances regarding stuff like this?

I like the idea of civil disobedience! Unretard those 650NKs! See what happens!

    cheers

    Hi jeff

Yes it all come down to someone with a laptop pluged into you ECU to unlock it the same way as cars are "CHIP" you need to take the bike or just the ECU box to people who does this type of work and get them to have a look you could even have a hidden switch put in place so you could switch it back to normal if got stop by the police we used to do this with car mileage back in the UK because the resection are software based you can do so much more and when you have it all sorted out it could be a good money earner for you to reprogram other CF MOTO bikes

    Try these guys

Wondering if you might have looked at getting yourself a bike stand since there's no centre stand which on the 650NK suits the naked bike design IMO, whereas the omission on the 650TR is a real fumble of the ball IMO. I been looking myself, and found the mounting hardware for a bike stand specific to the 650TR, but am currently looking for a stand that is known to fit the 650TR (CF650-2). So far all the Taobao sellers I've contacted selling bike stands have no idea whether stands they sell (or what stand) will fit.
    Still looking...

    Hello,
I haven't really looked into the centre stand mount issue. Thing is, I'll most likely not service the bike myself, and the dealer has this paddock-like thing you put sportbikes on. So far no need for it. But I somehow guess (and by guess I mean guess :)) that TR's centre stand might fit. Will probably require some additional work on it, though.

    Hello, Brad
Problem here - these sliders were specifically made for CFMoto 650 NK. Mounting brackets included. They are being made by some local Chinese dude in his workshop - it's not a major manufacturer or anything. As such, they do not have any part number or any ID whatsoever. I got them from taobao.com (Chinese eBay equivalent). No idea about the colour options though - I never asked the seller. Even worse - now that I tried to find them on taobao.com again, it appears the link was taken down :(

Here's some for sale on Taobao
    seller 1
    seller 2
there are other sellers on Taobao with these same items so they likely are sourcing from the same supplier...
