    hi

im trying to help a friend who has got a lightspeed 2 - he got it from new and when he first got it it would easily do 70mph but now it wont go above 55 - when he gets to 55mph it sort of feels like the brakes are coming on ever 2 seconds and then relesed again - its a sort of julting movement. Any ieas - i have had the carb out and cleaned it all - the plugs in nice and tight - theres clean fuel in there - and now im out of ideas

70mph from a 4 stroke scooter sounds very unlikely might of been a very incorrect speedo, small wheels and small bhp dont make a good combo for top speed, my supermoto with 20bhp and 17'' wheels will only crack 80mph. also how many miles has it done now and going qas fast as possible when new isnt good for the engine

On my POS 125 scooter I find I gotta clean out the air filter every month or so to keep it running at it's ability. Still only does about 100kph tops though (now). It used to do closer to 110-120, but it's old and wasn't used for six months. Had to get a new carb and battery for it to bring it back to life.
