I think it's very amusing that these manufacturers are trying to copy the Honda CBR250R as the only thing that really sells that bike is Honda reliability and quality, other than that I (and many others) prefer a sportier twin like the Suzuki and Kawasaki Ninja 250cc/300cc models. I just think street bikes should be twins. Looks and sound better IMO. I'd never want another single unless I was doing enduro or dirt riding.

IMO, even sporty (preferably half faired) thumpers can be interesting. Remember Gilera Saturno 500 or Yamaha SZR 660?

I like that single, but to date the best version IMO is this, I would like one in Benelli green.

Here's motorcycle/scooter hybrid from Jiajue marked as JJ250-7.

    Jiajue_JJ250-7.jpg

It is true that he is not on the list of models that are currently produced and this is only a computer rendering, but still - seems that Jiajue plans to produce similar hybrid.

In my opinion, this Jiajue has much more appealing design than similar hybrids from CF Moto - V3 and V5. Nevertheless, I do not understand why they so much insist on the cruiser bike "form factor". Some details of the hybrid reminded me of the old Aermacchi Chimera, and then at some other designs, in which could be "packaged" mechanics of Jiajue hybrid, such are Ariel Leader, or even bit "fresher" Suzuki SW1. I think that in the "form factor" of classic motorcycle there is a bigger niche for these hybrid.

Yeah those are interesting, the Suzuki was the newest made in 1992.

It is not uncommon in the auto industry to re-skin vehicles, then sell them under another brand name.
The underpinnings can be shared and the exterior appearance different, that is all about standard mounting points for body parts.

They can retain some economy of scale in doing that, sharing engines and mechanicals, but altering the appearances.

    Another exercise in re-branding.

    1) create a name that somebody already has rights to.
    2) set up half functioning website

Jiajue does not rank in the top 50 manufactures in China.

They rank 49th out of 50 top exporters for 2012

    That is the Aermacchi Chimera

When faced with the growing interest in the Japanese imports, Harley bought Aermacchi and introduced some of the bikes in the USA, these were called Sprints, they came in 250 and 350cc versions.

Interesting. I found they did "scramblers" too, if I am not mistaken of the word used to describe this style.

Yeah they were not very popular bikes back then…Harley had financial problems in 2008 and began cutting and owning the factory were the bikes were made once again was short for them, they sold off the factory in 2009.

Once Honda introduced their 350 models there was no hope for the Sprints.

This what comes out of that factory today, well one of the bikes they make anyway.

    Raptor 125 a 15hp 2-stroke.
