Wow. I annot say how excited I am to find this forum. Moving to Shanghai a month ago was and has been one of the most exciting experience of my life, but leaving my "baby" behind has been tough.

I got my start on a 1998 Honda Magna 750 and can say hands down, it is the first bike I will always recommend to new riders. It's got a LOT of power and needs to be respected, but damn its one hell of a vehicle. After cutting my teeth on Mississippi back roads, my wife and I relocated to downtown Atlanta GA. After about two years of big city riding and a couple of 400-600 mile trips I decided it was time to get a little something bigger. In April of this year I bought a 2007 Honda VTX 1300 with just 2000 miles. Between April and the time I left for shanghai in August, I dropped another 4500 miles on her.

Here on a year tourist visa while my wife attends school for her second grad degree. May not get the chance to ride, but glad I have folks to talk to about riding!!

Be prepared for a serious mind resetting in terms of bike riding.

Yeah it appears things are quite a bit "different" here in china. That's quite alright though. From 100cc to 1800cc 2-3 wheels, dirt, street, or both. A rider is a rider, no matter what he/she is on :)
