So I'm settling down back home, I don't see myself coming back to China in the next couple of years.

My bike is sitting in a garage in Chengdu, the alternator was toasted and I couldn't continue my trip to Beijing last year. The bike is fine otherwise, starts easily with the kickstarter. Of course no lights of any kind since the alternator is toasted. Dark tunnels are scary, and much more so if riding through on a bike. The engine is doesn't have enough power though, if I were to keep the bike, i'd spend an extra 2000 rmb to put in a new Loncin 250cc. Other than power issues, if the electric system is fixed, bike is just fine.

The bike is registered in Kunming. Green book is also in Kunming now. But insurance is expired. Also, when is it due for inspection? If it's due, im supposed to take it to Kunming to renew the registration.

So how should I go about selling it? Do I fly in to Chengdu, put the bike on a train and ship to KM? Kunming train station is inside of 2nd ring road, bikes not allowed, would the bike be impounded if stopped by police?

If someone from Chengdu wants to buy the bike, could they do the inspection in Chengdu and keep the KM plates?

I'm just coming to China to take my stuff, if the bike can cover the ticket cost, less than 5000 rmb, I'm happy.

If you could get this bike back to good condition, I would definitely be interested.

who's insulting my steed ? how dare you?

Since I can't come to right now, the bike can be is yours 4000 (the price difference should cover a train ticket and shipping back to KM).. All the bike needs is a new alternator. Even now, it can be ridden but without lights! To change the alternator, only the front cover of the engine has to be taken off. Simply, someone has to get to the bike, add a bit of gas, and kick start the bike.. I know that because it was running perfectly except for the electric start.

Any MCM members up there in Chengdu, or know anyone there, who might want to help Slabo get his bike to Kunming for repairs and a new lease on life with motomatt?

I've seen that bike and can say it's a real kick in the ass -- a big, fun, forgiving, go-anywhere Chinese dual sport.

    cheers

This is a super friendly group, let's see if there's a way someone can help us out of this ditch we're in.. We just have to get it started and get it to the parts market.. 110 to 150rmb should get you a new alternator .. the engine is not as powerful as a 200 cc should be, but it got me to 4700 m elevations no problem.. i was doing 70kph according to GPS on the flats in that altitude (modded the carb). anyway, a new Loncin engine costs 2000 rmb and you've got yourself one of the best China Dualsports legal in China..
