It seems that a quarter of a liter CBR became the inspiration for many Chinese manufacturers.

That bike does not look that much like the CBR to me, when I look at it I see Hyosung? Its frame is similar to their GT 250. What is intriguing to me is the engine a 150cc rated at 11.8kw is actually impressive. Zongshen is partnering with Hyosung...they are likely sharing technology.

Their joint venture in Brazil. which will need to address flex fuels and a pending Euro IV standard in as early as 2014.

Piaggio also has interesting small displacement engines for motocycles, who have not often used.

Piaggio uses Minarelli engines, that is the source of their 125cc engines we see in the Derbi and Aprillia bikes.

The Minarelli 660cc engine was offered at one time in a Derbi, but not any more.

That is the same engine in the Yahmaha Tenere

Piaggio group collectively has engine production, but under the Piaggio brand I wonder if they actually make engines? Getting access to small engines and emerging markets may have been the motivation to partner with Zongshen.

I have to wonder about the rating on the 150cc Zongshen engine, it seem inaccurate to me.
The brochure has the engine as a CBB200, which make me think its not a 150cc, the CBB200 is a ZM165FML and here is its specs.

Zongsehn is not breaking any new ground with that engine….it just a 200cc OHC with a balance shaft rated at 14.96hp @7500 rpm.

I wonder if the 250cc NC250 engine can be configured to meet emissions? I would like to see it offered up as a Piaggio or even a Zongshen or both, in a bike that looks something like this.

LOL better yet offer it up as an entry level Aprillia? Globally?

What? Declared 15-16 horse power from 150 cc? Those are not regular horses, those are Shetland ponies.

Jokes aside. 125/150 cc 4T engine with ~15 HP must to have four valve head and contemporary design.

check out the headlights, wind screen, side mirror and the most obvious one "the digital instrumentation". I think i will be not be available for export due to its almost "carbon copy" of the CBR150 and 250'S. But in fairness i think the rest seems zhongshen's original design.
