    Hi all,

We have been toying with the idea that we will leave Weifang for the winter, and head down again to Baihai.
You can guess that Weifang is freaking cold in winter, ie, minus 12 deg C. and Baihai can be 20 deg C. on the same say.
We did Baihai for 6 weeks or so last winter, so like to "over-winter" there.

What do the forum members think about these scooters I found on Tabao.
They are selling well, and they are sold out of the factory, at some thing like 400 sales a month.

    Here is the seller
    http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...&id=9871405054
    .
They are a copy of the Yamaha Cygnus, but here it is spelt Cyguns
Actually, they even supply the Yamaha decals, if you want to replace them, how bold is that !!!

Any whether it's a copy or not, I just like to know what I should look out for.
But at just 2300 quai, it's not a lot of money.

Here is the Yamaha link to the Cygnus 125cc
    Yamaha Cygnus 125cc

    The things I noticed
The copy engine is not so powerful, as it is carb, and the Yamaha is fuel injection.
The copy is 10 inch wheels, the Yamaha have 12 inch wheels.
    The copy is £230
    The Yamaha is £2,599

    Why shouldn't I buy us a pair?
The seller told us they would cost extra 300 rnb each for registration and licence plates, if we wanted.

Did you firmly decided to buy a scooter with 10-13" wheels or is it just a thought, the basic idea?

    Just the basic idea,

Just to play with in Beihai, some thing light and easy.

Probably get shot of them when we get back to Weifang.

If I have my way, I would have my AT over here.

You probably want something that offers some protection from rain, wind, mud... If you decided to buy thing with the variator and belt, have you thought about a scooter with big (15-16") wheels? As much as I understand, only drawback comparing to the standard scooter is a smaller trunk under the seat, and the advantage of a larger diameter wheels probably you already know.

Good protection, along with agility, provide Underbone bike, plus, you have a manual gearbox and a chain drive. As far as I could see, the Chinese market is flooded with affordable Honda Wave clones, so "when in Rome, do as the Romans do".

    Hi Zorge and all others,

Looking on the Tabao, and 58.com there seems to be mostly 10 inch wheel scooters.
    scooter I like

I would have preferred us to get large diameter, may be 13 inch wheel?

So in general, how much difference is there in a scooter with 10 inch wheels, as against a scooter with say 13 inch or larger wheels?
I don't mean large like 16 inch or 17 inch like a more motorbike type wheels, but keeping it scooter type essentially.

In the city, where the roads are generally good, is a scooter with 10 inch wheels OK, ?

Not expecting to fight against the wind, rain and mud, so not really to bothered about that side of things.

I do not have much experience with them, and I'm skeptical about the scooter with small wheels, so I can not give an objective answer

About big wheel scooters: are those "scooter type" enough?

    Hi Zorge,
    Thanks for the links.
They look OK, but not quite what I am looking for.
The wheels are more in line with motor bike wheels, to be honest.
I also guess the prices fro these are more than double what I am looking to pay.
I think I will just go with the 10 inch wheels.
We are not going to be hurtling around, and peg scraping.

    2300 rnb scooter

These seem OK for the money, and I am not expecting too much from them any way.

It is obvious that you like scooter you mentioned, so the choice has already been made.

It might be good to ask people in the local motorcycle shops is that scooter any good.
