Does there exist LED light strips that you can stick on to your bike, but that are powered by a battery inside the strip? In other words, I do not want to have to wire them into the bike's electrics. Any ideas? Thanks!

There are plenty of lights strips available in the market.. Just need to check the sites like ebay and amazon and buy the most suited one. I have got two for my bikes:)

There are thousands of LED strips on eBay all in different lenghts and colors. Get the 12v waterproof type so you can just wire them directly to the battery through a switch.

The flexable PVC types are very flexable and the SMD types can only flex one way but they look better.

i don't know if you've found one yet but i work at a halfords and we sell ones like your describing. they're called daytime running lights for cars but you could use them on a bike. might want to try on ebay tho like spencer said i'm sure you'll find somting cheaper on there.

Oh yeah, if you want to use them on the road you are only permitted to have white LEDs visible from the front, yellow on the sides and red at the back, so no blue, green, etc.
