10-15-2012, 01:53 AMHi all,
Was looking for potential bikes on the internet late yesterday and stumbled across this website. Read a couple of threads and was happy surprised over the seriousness and the members knowledge in this forum. And everyone's so helpful and friendly, that's a good sign.
I currently live in Shanghai, moved here from Sweden just before the Expo2010. When it comes to bigger bikes than 150cc, I'm a total newbie. So I'm reading every thread with great interest. I'm looking forward to everything I can learn in here.
Regards,
Jackie

Welcome aboard Jackie, have fun looking around. Lots of members in shanghai, they do meet up every now and then as well.
Feel free to ask questions and advice, but do use the search function first as almost everything has been answered before!
Ride safe,
Felix

10-16-2012, 08:18 PMDear Jackie,
Welcome to MCM, and to Shanghai. We do have a large and pretty active circle of riders in Shanghai. And once you get over the shock of what a plate costs, we'll be looking forward to getting you out for rides and other recreation.
cheers!jkp

10-18-2012, 07:19 AMYeah, I've heared it's quite costly to get a Hu A license plate and those are not only subsidized, they are also auctioned out to the highest bidder. I will try check out the new Benelli 600 during the weekend and see if I can plate it with a Hu C or something, or play cat and mouse with the cops, just like the MC taxis in the city does. Just have to go through with the pain-in-the-butt process of switching my driving license to a Chinese "book". Can it be any more inconvenient?
