If anyone out there has a QingQi QM200GY, I'd like to see two fairly close-up photos of the motor from left and right side.

I could swear that's the same motor in the Yamaha XT225 and I'm looking for a part that the dealers in the U.S. won't sell seperately.

    Cheers,

The Qingqi QM200GY has a Genuine licensed Suzuki engine the same as a DR200.

The closest to the Yamaha XT225 would be the engine fitted to the Zongshen LZX-200GY (AKA: Vento, Zipstar, QLink Sierra). There's a service manual and a parts book with exploded drawings of every part that can be downloaded from this forum. You can compare your bits with those drawings. See this thread:

    Forchetto,

Thanks a bunch for the info and link. I looked at some photos of the QingQi at a distance and the motor looked very similar to the XT225.

I'll take a look at the link you gave me.

    Thanks,

    Dan K.

At first I had to look twice. I tend to concentrate on salient features and both engines have the oil filter housing in the same position...Let me know if you can find the part you need.
Sometimes Chinese importers won't supply separate parts either, I believe it's due to the cheapness of Chinese spares. For example the Spanish Qingqi importer won't sell you exhaust parts, but the entire system as a unit. Suzuki, on the other hand lists every nut and bolt for the exhaust system as a separate part.

Yeah, I'm just a cheap bastard and I'm hoping to find some cheap parts. The Yammy carburetor has a plastic part on it that breaks and Yamaha will only sell a complete carb. If I can source some cheap Chinese parts, I'll be smilin'

Some of the Chinese manufacturers as selling in the U.S. now, so once I find the right motor and manufacturer, then I'll start contacting U.S. side resellers.

Worse comes to worst I'll just have to pick up the parts myself on my next China trip.

    Cheers,

    Dan k.

    Dan,

There are lots of pics of QingQi200Gy engines around here and I'm pretty sure it's not a Yamaha based engine. If you're trying to match up a Yamaha 225, the one I think you may be looking for is the XGJao GY6?

I don't think these are available yet in the US or North America. Anyone else know?

    Thanks Jim,

I'll keep an eye out for those brands also. The search for cheapo replacement parts for name brand, over-priced ones is almost as much fun as actually finding one.

    Cheers,
