Does China have any displacement laws regulation license, registration, use on specific roads, tax, etc?

We see high tech motorcycle engines because many markets (Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, etc.) have displacement laws, and the manufacturers have to get all the performance they can out of a certain engine size. Also, most motorcycle racing is classified by displacement.

High tech engines are cool; I love 'em. However, as somebody that lives in a place without any significant displacement laws and as a guy who never races, I'd rather have the power of a DOHC four valve liquid cooled 250cc delivered by a ~400cc air cooled OHV engine. It would be lighter, cheaper to produce, no larger, have far fewer parts and would be easier & cheaper to maintain.

China does have displacement regulations and even has some regulations banning motorcycles from some cities. I believe they stick with the smaller displacement bikes for export reasons.

According to internet rumors that have in no way been confirmed by the factory this bike should have a street price of around $2000 USD.

For a Chinese bike, it looks bad a@*! That photo of the bike suspended in pieces reminded me alot of the "Bodyworld" exhibit I just saw a few weeks ago in L.A. $2k would be a great price, but I think that is more a wholesale price in the US. Any rumors of the price for the X1 dual sport?

The X2 could probably stand to use a better carb. The AX1 carb was much more robust than what's on there currently. I can't help but think it would render more horses.

Either way, if they only put this engine in a motor-X type bike they're totally missing the boat.

Im really intrested in this bike and am wondering if anyone knows yet when it might be avalible to buy in the UK and if anyone has any idea of a cost yet

Unfortunately there hasn't been too much Shineray news on here recently. This engine created a bunch of buzz but I have no idea what happened with the follow through!

The UK should be getting some other 250's soon, even if not the DOHC 4v version.

Hi all,

The X2 has just beeb released to market in China continent. Compared with prototype, its power goes up to 21KW, very close to AX-1, I believe with simple modification, it will reach 25KW without difficulty; the inverted forks 48mm and PDS type shock made by FASTACE (much better than that in prototype); the workmanship improved too. Probably this is the best MX bike you can buy in China at present. The only problem is the weight, 115KG is too heavy in its class.
