02-17-2013, 12:57 PMPlease be mindful of your safety.
Try to keep your doors closed at night.
Don't go out unnecessarily.
Because you don't seem to have registered using your ID (I think that's what it says, my Chinese isn't the best and I don't recognize that second to last character)

To check into a hotel in China, assuming it is a hotel, you must have an identity card or passport, which are then scanned into the computer for confirmation through the internet. Drivers license doesnt always work as the hotel may not be equipped for scanning that. Furthermore, not all hotels are allowed to receive foreigners, that creates difficulties for them sometimes, especially in smaller cities.
From the photo you provided, you got that peculiar message because either you didnt provide the proper identity card or the hotel is not licensed to receive foreigners.
By the way, I hope that message was posted inside of your room.

02-19-2013, 12:46 AMthey a bit strict with the hotels nowadays.
in my small city as a foreigner you can only stay in big expensive hotels (over 400kuai a night), the cheaper ones dont have licenses to receive foreigners and it seems that they care about that for some reason.
