Panniers, racks, side bags

Hi,

Im going on a 2 month long trip around China. I know i will need to take quite a bit of stuff with me and now Im looking for a cheaper alternative to the aluminum boxes (cheapest i found, with rack, cost around RMB2000). Im wondering if anyone ever used one of these http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...&cm_id=&pm_id=
I have YBR250 but they make them for nearly every bike there is in China ;) whats the quality like? Of course Id use them with another box on the top as they are only around 24L each.

also Im thinking about this set http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...id=14016514148 but am not sure if the massive ADLO 982 boxes can handle the trip hanging on the side like that. Anyone used these boxes? any ideas about the quality?

Thanks humanbeing but finding bag is not a problem. I was looking for some cheap boxes as i can lock my stuff away and can go to get something to eat or things like that. Bags are good and cheap but if you travel alone they are not very practical as they can get nicked easly.
No one has any info about those ADLO boxes?

bikerdoc has posted about ADLO quality in the past. You'd have to fish through old threads.

I've got a mid-sized top box that works pretty well, and has survived a couple of drops. Bought mine in now-defunct Jiaoji Lu Scooterville, but I'm sure they are still selling well in the relocated market farther up in Zhabei. There are quite a few sizes. Mine won't fit even a single helmet but bikerdoc has one that probably fits two helmets....

I think that 360 kuai rack is a good option, mount a couple of solid wandefu boxes (fake pelican boxes) onto it and you have a winner for about 1500. ChinaV has some great info on those here:

Ive been looking at those boxes and its obvious that they are heavy duty and will survive a proper abuse. The only thing that makes me think about this set up is the way they open. It must be real pain in the ass to keep stuff in while you open the box as everything probably wants to come out. But can have everything, especially if you watching the price. I think Ill order them tonight and ask my local tailor to make some bags like Pfaelzer has here for his tourfellas http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...ll=1#post12425

I've got Wandefu panniers on my KLR in California, and you are right -- it's hard to keep things tidy with the panniers opening to the side. It's not completely unmanageable, especially if you add some keeper strings to keep the lids from opening beyond 90 degrees. Another excellent strategy is to employ bags inside the panniers that match the interior dimensions. Just open the pannier and remove the bag...
