05-23-2013, 08:44 AMActually there is an aperture in the back end of the case so the oil "flows" in both halves of the crank case. As far as I can tell this is by design and I suppose the idea is to enhance cooling.

When I removed the left crank case cover I hadn't drained the oil as it was only ~500km old, plus I thought I'd fix the problem and close it back right away. As it revealed it wasn't the case, I put the bike back on it's side stand and (almost) all of the oil drained from the hole between the cases.
Based on that I'd say that when the engine is off and bike's on the side stand the coils are "soaked" in oil. Now, what happens when the engine is running and the pump's working, I don't know. May be all the oil is sucked into the right case, where the clutch is. Or may be not... :)
