I stumbled on "Alibaba" to some company in Chongqing (where else, heh...), which mainly makes/sells tricycles, but among the few two-wheelers, my attention was attracted to their interesting interpretation of a light motorcycle a-la Honda CD.

However, most interesting thing to me is his engine, more precisely it's cylinder head. The crankcase is, as far as I can see, standard clone of small bore Honda. I managed to crop and blow up portion of the photos where you can see the engine.

Beside Honda's, I'm not familiar with horizontal engines the rest of the big Japanese four, so I can not identify this engine or it's head.

So, I ask the simple question: does anyone know what is this?

how odd the far side of the engine looks like its a LC engine with a OHC design.

I thought this was a hybrid with a redesigned head of GY-6 engine, but again, I wonder who wants to invest their money into a new design, when you can find at every corner good old, standard head.

The thing is that liquid cooled horizontals have more or less standard heads, with cooling fins, not "bald", like this one.

    Here are three examples.

    LC_horizontals.jpg

The YX engine on the top is probably LC, but I do not know the details. The head is, as you can see, standard one.

In the middle is the common 107cc (marked as 110) engine, with installed LC cylinder with the outlets for hoses. There is no pump that moves coolant - it's thermosiphon cooling system. And again - standard head.

At the bottom is some big bore horizontal LC engine. I believe that this is the thermosiphon system also. I would say that the common head a little modified, but again, the design is well known and the fins are all over.

not too long ago i remember seeing a Lifan made liquid cooled pitbike motor but it didn't have a single cooling fin on it.
