06-02-2013, 05:23 AMHello People
I need an advice. There's a new dealer in my country who selling a honda CBR150 and CBR250 replica. The brand is YCR CBR150R / CBR250R. He tells me that all honda parts will fit on the bike and the performance is the same as a real honda. It's within my budget so it's tempting. Does anyone know if the parts are interchangeable from ycr/honda and performance wise how it fairs??
What do you advise me about this new YCR brand?
Thanks
Rajiv

I've seen them up for sale, the 150 with the liquid cooled engine looks so idetical, but have yet to hear about any experiences about them but somebody on here will probably chime in with some details.

06-02-2013, 12:15 PMThanks.
Yeah they look identical right up to the quality and exhaust sound.
I live in Mauritius. A real CBR 150 goes for as much as $7900, CBR250 for $10900 cause of 100% taxes and duties.
YCR is the only thing close enough to a cbr that's within my budget. Unfortunately nobody in my country has any experience with them.

That’s weird the claim of a 100% tax, since that island nation is supposed to have one of the freest economizes, the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry has no duty rate listed as it is “0” for 87141000 “motorcycles” They only have a 15% VAT. http://www.mcci.org/trade_customs_local.aspx
Honda website does not offer pricing.

However…
This add in MauriceMotors.com for a brand new 2013 CBR150 is for 100,000 Mauritian Rupee, that’s only $3,189.00 USD.

Are they selling the fakes as real Honda's?
cause her is a 2008 for 95,000, whcih makes little sence if a new one is 100,000

The Honda has a DOHC six speed, I have not ever seen a Chinese made DOHC 150cc.
I cannot see how it could be identical to the Honda without that engine.
Lots of those for sale and with lots of different engines.

I found this odd 125cc offered by Peace Industry group for sale there.

The 200cc version of that had an EPA certificate issued for it here in the US, but never was imported.

06-02-2013, 03:58 PMNice find for the Rs9500 one. Already called the person to check the bike. Thanks.
I went to Honda agency in person. They have only CBR250R and up, which it sells at Rs330000 (approx $10500 USD). Another official dealer has the CBR150 at Rs250,000.
That add in Mauricemotors.com is the bike I was talking about. It's not a real Honda. The salesman said it was the YCR CBR150. Looks identical and he claims it's the same engine as a real Honda. Am not sure about 6 Speeds....I think he said it was 5 speed.
Am new to bikes. Please help. I want the YCR...but if I buy it,then parts are not the same sa Honda CBR, am stuck with a bike that has no spare parts when/if it breaks... :(

Those are not worth 3K even if the real Honda is so grossly overpriced.

It could have any number of engines in it, the above add has it with the Lifan 150cc
That they use in this bike http://motor.lifan.com/kp150/
It is not an exact engine copy of the Honda, the person that is selling it is a liar.

I don't know what to suggest, the bikes are not replicas, they are massively inferior to the Hondas. Buy 2nd hand or save up for the real thing. You really need to consider the resale value too, even though they cost more the Honda will be cheaper to run and much easier to sell and last much longer.

06-03-2013, 02:09 PMExactly. Looks can be deceiving.
I guess I'll wait and go for a 2nd hand one. With some luck I might land a Kawasaki 250 or Honda CBR250.
Thanks for the support people!! You guys saved me my hard earned cash. I appreciate it. ^^
