I was driving out of Lidu last week on Jiangtai Donglu, and saw a nice looking bike shop on the right hand side of the road called "Motorcycle Vehicles." I went in for a look and was very pleased by what I saw. They had a full array of Suzuki GW250s, YBR 250s, Victory, Shineray 250s (including new sports bike and dual sport) as well as assortment of JH 600s and sidecar models. Will post pics later tonight.

    Nice find, GJN.

Perhaps this is the successor to Zhang Haitao's defunct Jialing dealership? Did they have the little Jialings?

    cheers!

Dropped by that shop today. Heading out Jingtai Donglu, almost to the 5th Ring Road, on the right hand side, as you mentioned.

It calls itself Datone. Nicely decorated, spacious, and a great assortment of bikes. Has a nice coffee bar inside, as well.

Interestingly, it is owned by Dadihengtong Motors, the large Suzuki dealership network.

Thanks for the heads up on this one, GJN - a worthwhile visit!

I think the Google Maps coordinates are 39.975246,116.514126

Right. Did it look to you like this new shop is the "official" shop for Jialing sales and service in Beijing?

The new Jialing Service Center for Beijing has been taken over by Qin (my long time license plate agent), and he is in the SW.

Damn tricky to find, but here are the Google Map coordinates:

    39.792842,116.420574

That will take you to the front gate of a compound. You then need to call him for help.

    Qin Shao Lei
    138 0136 8580

Great guy ... unfortunately, he is experiencing the same misfortunes dealing with the Jialing company ... I think ZHT was totally fed up, being the middleman between the customer and Jialing, and passed the baton to Qin.

Datone seems to be an upscale place to show off some bikes. The other shops in this chain are, shall we say, Chinese-style (one can barely move among the bikes/gear/parts/junk crammed into every square cm). Nice place - I was impressed.
