01-26-2009, 05:49 PMIm actually working on this myself and have applied to be the sole UK distributor for this bike, I have arranged for a sample to be sent over and it should be here in the next couple of weeks, im going to run it through various tests and trials at local tracks and wood courses to see how it goes, im planning to film the trails and post them on youtube. Im also going to put it up against a Honda CRF250 to see how it compares. I will link the videos to this site when I have them made up and will answer any questions anyone has on the bike.
I will also be able to supply a full list of spares for the bike if anyone has any worries about the backup support.
If anyone wants detailed pictures of the sample bike or close-ups of certain parts of the bike when it arrives I would be happy to take them and post them up on request.
Again I do have some specifications of the bike if anyone requires them so just let me know.

Pinchers man that's great news! We've been beating drums about this bike since last April and I'm happy to see it's being considered for import. I'm sure we'll all be VERY interested in your impressions of the bike and any other info/materials you can offer. As far as the industry is concerned... the more the better!
Have you had a chance to visit their factory in ChongQing? Are you planning on importing under the Shineray or your own badge?

01-26-2009, 07:41 PMAhh thanks for the support CC, I am currently in negotiations with Shineray to become a UK agent.
I cant wait to get hold of this bike and see if it really is as good as it looks, fingers crossed, I believe the bike is about 2 or so weeks away.
I will get some videos of the bike up as soon as I can.
Remember if anyone is interested in owning one of these I will be able to supply them in the very near future.
Please feel free to ask any questions about the bike and I will do my best to answer them.

Are you considering any of their other models like the GY-7?

01-26-2009, 08:52 PMI have been trying to drum up intrest on the X2 and some of the other bikes in the range, from the vib ive been getting back people only seem to be intrested in the X2 and the XY350ST-2E quad, I am certainly open to suggestions though.
Do you have any reviews, other details or comments on the GY-7?

Sure do...
Best to start here...
http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...light=shineray
Then some video coverage of the GY-7 and the X2 in the ChongQing Motorcycle Expo Report...
http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14
The GY-7 ran the Taklamakan Rally and did okay but the model was earlier diagnosed with a fork-tube clamp issue which has since been rectified. An interesting and very utilitarian bike if it can be fitted with a good 250... which it can!
Also, still curious if you've had a chance to visit the factory in China? If not I can send you some photos of their facilities from my visit there.

03-01-2009, 06:26 PMWell im just back from a day of Enduro riding in the XY250GY-2, it actually is a very good machine with a great spec when you see it up close, the machine has lots of power and torque exactly when you need it, the machine has lots of grip. only problem was cause of the rush to get it out for the day and that the machine arrived the night before i never got a chance to set the supension and ride height up, now the exhuast and engine have been used a it more the sound of the bike is great. here is a wee pic, didnt mange to many im affraid. i hope to take it to a motocross track next week and put it up against a Honda 250.

03-20-2009, 01:47 PMHave a look at this, this is the super motatrd version of the X2, it has just got its EEC certificate and i think it look amazing in this colour scheme.
I am still swaying over the idea about importing the X2 dirt bike and the X2 Super motard, i really want to but im worring about the amount of intrest i would have in the UK.
Give me your view and have a look.
