Could anyone help us in the right direction? I've just purchased this bike on 11 plate as a first bike but it seems to idle at very low revs and will cut out at lights if I don't give it a little power I heard that it is a cbr replica would the cbr service manual be useful for this bike? Any input would be appreciated thanks

That's carbureted, isn't it? I'd bring it to the shop for a check on the carb and idle. Or try flushing the carb and installing an inline fuel filter. Maybe you got some gunk in the tank or bad gas and the main jet is clogged up.

I doubt they'd do it if you don't ask them. It's not too tough, but a bit of a hassle. If its been sitting, for sure try that. I'd also ask them to put in an inline fuel filter if there's not one there.

On the right hand side of the carb there is a screw, with the engine warmed up fully and idling turn the screw clockwise until the idle is at the correct speed of around 1500 RPM.

Failing that adjust the idle mixture screw on the bottom of the carb to achieve the best idle then re-adjust idle to 1500 if necessary.

Failing that remove the carb from the engine, take the bottom place off and clean out everything you can.

Failing that get a new carb they are only cheap ;)
