08-19-2013, 08:12 PMIf you plan on fitting new gaskets it wouldn't hurt to fit new piston rings too. Depending on the mileage of the engine it might also be a good time to replace the clutch plates too. Apart from that just check each part for signs of damage or extreme wear and tear and replace them if necessary. Obviously change the oil and oil filter too.
If you want to go a little bit deeper you could grind the valves so that they make a better seal, you would need some valve grinding compound, a valve grinding stick and a valve spring compressor so unless if the valve seats are especially work it's probably not worth it. During your top end rebuild you could do some intake and exhaust porting and polishing if you want a bit of free performance and if you have a dermal handy.
Moving away from the engine for a bit more performance on the cheap you could get a 38mm cone filter and a 105 main jet for your crab.Sinnis Max II (QM125-2V), K157FMI engine (technically a K162FMJ now), 115 main jet, 40 pilot jet, cone air filter, 150cc big bore kit, 17 tooth front sprocket, 30mm carburettor, alarm with remote start, HID spotlights, performance CDI.
