    1) the map BJ to GuYuan in Hebei. I omitted the first part to SiHai.

There is a stunning off-road section (#1). During the nice seasons its a great camp ground. I saw some people with Landcruisers and tents doing BBQ. But this way you better do not try on Harleys, Scooters or sport bikes. The hard guys make it on sidecars. The water crossings have been up to 40cm deep and with big rocks inside. I slipped once and happily didn’t fall but got my boots full of water.

    2) my way back from GuYuan to BJ

basically I thought to go back relaxed through the villages and all on tar road … but it came different. The off-road sections #2 and #3 are shown on Google maps as country roads... yeah … I know section #1 too …..
However, it got rough. If you want to follow that route I strongly advise you to have a light weight Enduro or even MX bike. You get everything that means off road! Narrow, rocky, sandy, steep slopes up and down, heavy erosion grooves, muddy sliding paths. What you get are incredible views. Anyhow, these two sections you cant make on streetbikes, sidecars and scooters. A good experienced rider may do on a JH600. (but I believe this bike is too heavy for at least section #2)

    Hey Shuben,

great to see that the offroad section can be done in summer. I remember I had to retreat in April because the whole area was still covered in snow and ice. That was a two day ride or did you blast through the whole 600 kms in one day?
