#1 Allow me to introduce, Myself...01-31-2009, 09:23 AM
I am Winston, I have left a few post but have failed to formally introduce myself. I am an expat living Shanghai for the last 2 years. I am a full time resident with no intention of returning to the US. I am married and have a young son. I love all thing that fly, and all things on 2 and 3 wheels.
I work in my free time for spare parts at CJ Sidecar. I can often be found at the Shanghai shop working on my Chang Jiangs or my buddies Chang Jiangs....
I was once a commercial helicopter pilot in the states and now a "desk jocky" much to my dissmay. But at least I still have bike riding. I really enjoy seeing "real" china by motorbike and CJ. My buddy Peter and I run an adventure tour company using Chang Jiangs and we make trip into China as often as possible. When my son is older he and I will do a RTW trip together... but for now must wait....

Welcome to MCM, its nice to have some Rock-n-Roll videos on here! Is that a 'Stich you're wearing?
Also don't be afraid to post some of your shop's info in the dealers section. It never hurts to have your info in one more place.

I hear that man. I got the Roadcrafter and it's been though so much crap. A good suit can make all the difference between getting somewhere and getting somewhere without hypothermia!
The more I use it the more uses I find for it...it's even good for sailing. Come to think of it, I should wash and reseal it again before this riding season.
Paz,
Carl
P.S. - I should hope anyone would feel free to welcome anyone at any point in time.---------------------------------------------------

SHFingerz,
If you've got a good pic of yourself in the Stich, send it to the folks at Aerostich... they appreciate photos of their product at work in interesting places.

Winston,
You posted a timely message. Welcome to the group (Don't know if I can welcome you as I'm a noob myself. . .)
Anyways, I see in your post that your working with someone doing CJ "adv" tours in China. I'm preparing to make my 5th. trip to China a few months from now. My wife and I own a condo in PanYu, GuangZhou and we're planning on going up to Shanghai and Suzhou to visit some friends and take in the sights.
I originally planned 3 weeks for this trip as I wanted to try and rustle up a bike to ride from GuangZhou to Shanghai. After more thinking, I decided it would be too much of a hassle to have to get the bike back to GuangZhou.
So, to make a short story long, what can you do to set up a CJ tour that would last about 1 week out of Shanghai? I've ridden a Ural hack for the past 5 years, and I've been a 2 wheeler since learning to ride in Germany back in '84.
Drop me a line via email if you think you can arrange something.
Cheers,
Dan K.
