Need more motor in my DF250RTB.
    IMG_2235.jpg

This site in Turkey has a CG350 engine
    http://www.arasegemotor.com/index.ph...e-motor-detail
Anyone know the manufacturer of this engine? Is it Chinese?
How about a big bore kit for the 167FMM?

    Thanks

My guess is that this engine would not be EPA legal. XINGYUE has a EPA legal 400cc bike ( actually 3 bikes) Excalibur Motorsports used to sell one of the bikes, and may have a parts bike or engine in stock. Www.atv4usa.com and ask for Alan, the main sales guy, or Wade, the owner. Since they distribute for several companies, they might be able to find a bigger EPA compliant engine if the Xingyue is a no-go.

    culcume,
Yep, EPA certification is a problem on several larger cc engines I have pursued.

Thanks for the link, however I would not like to go water cooled. I'm hoping to find a larger cc CGxxx type engine so it will be a simple swap. I did find a true 250cc CG250 that might be a go and still trying to close the deal on it.

A BBK kit for my 167FMM that would get it up to 170FMM might be worthwhile.

barone, I think what you might be missing here is the word "modifiye", which means 'modified' in turkish.

meaning it well may well have originally been Chinese manufactured, but they likely bored it out and then some.
Did you get to see that vid i sent you? these guys had every single washer nut and bolt of that engine laid out on news paper...
doubt they were just buying engines from china, entirely dismantling them only to put them back together
    ...

And that likely explains the 1200 (not 1100) USD price tag...

I for one dont mind a water cooled solution, there are 1 or 2 of them at 300cc that look cg type and shouldn't require massive modification. But they sure are pricey.

I'm asking for help from some of our members in China or wherever.

I did the translate to English on that Turkish site so got all the info. I also just rounded the price to $1100 USD. I don't want to spend that kinda money whether it is $1100 or $1200 USD.
I saw the video that you sent. You can do what ever you want but I am looking for a ai rcooled CGxxx or xxxFMM type engine.
    Thanks

Ok, newbie-ish mistake on my part; yes cg engines are the air-cooled Honda designed in the 1970's or 60' engines found on many a Chinese bike today. The newer, larger engines are based on newer, liquid-cooled engines.

A few years ago, member 'Wild Alaskan' of chinariders.net succesfully mated A Lifan GY 5 enduro chassis to a XR400 engine. Perhaps those are closer to what you seek, and are somewhat plentiful in the US? Come to think of it, another guy on youtube did the same thing to his bike which happened to also be a GY 5 Lifan, documented on youtube. That guy's name on youtube is Sheridan Joyce. His 400 was out of an ATV.

Ok, tired tonight-I think 'wildalaskan' and 'Sheridan Joyce' are one and the same.
