    Forgot to mention...
I do not know if we can trust the figures for power and torque claimed by Shineray.
Does anybody have any measurings?? I think it looks a little optimistic, since the motor is an old Honda model and it is compared to 2013 models.

yeah not sure where you got those figures Klaus but the wr250 has way more power than that and I would be very surprised if the x2 was lighter. In any case as far as the op is concerned x2 supermoto would be a good bike for a tall guy in Beijing > the seat is a pain in the arse (literally) on long trips but I just lay my sleeping matt on it for longer rides. Jh 600 is also a good proven bike, depends how long you plan to stay and what you want to do really

all good info - many thanks Klaus ,
    great comments from all .
where are good spots to shop for this previously unknown (to me ) brand Shineray ?
recommendations against or for used models ?
i usually do my own wrenching but all of that kit is back with the half dozen other
m'cycles i left behind in Canada (otherwise i might even consider a CJ !) so finding
decent support in Beijing is some'at important too

    this is the Shineray X5
The riders are Chinese but you can see that its quite tall (love the way the first guy shifts his arse around)
It should be big enough for you

Just went to the basement to get a few measurements off the bike.
Using bathroom scales (sorry that is all I got, and you know how unprecise they are) Front wheel 68 kg + rear wheel 72 = 140 kg - 7 liters in the tank = 133 kg +/-
Seat height: I have adjusted it down a bit on the front forks, cos I'm only 174 cm high. I loosened the 3-point clamps and moved the dampers all the way up to the handle bar. That is about 20 mm down for the front. I did not touch the rear.
    Unloaded height 955 mm
Loaded height 905 mm (my 87 kg on the seat)

i stand over my Tiger 955 both feet planted firmly and can toss the bike side
to side between my legs , i can only imagine what it feels like not to be able
    to touch the ground.
thanks for taking the time Wittrup -
cheers - now to find one !
