    Hello,

I have been trying to get a motor bike license in GuangDong recently. I have asked in HuiZhou, Luoding, Yunfu and ZhanJiang and all have answered that a foreigner cannot get a license. Doesn't matter how much I pay !!!! TIC. Anybody having similar problems ?

Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

Ride your bike anyway and when you get caught go public and contact the United Nations claiming a violation of your human rights. That ought to do it.

Who are you talking to that says you cannot get a license? It is exactly the same process in Guangdong as anywhere else. Get your home license translated at an approved official translator's office, take it down to the local traffic bureau, get your "medical test" and sign up for the computerized exam.

    Nuhaus,

That is what I thought. First I asked the local driving schools in HuiZhou to help me, then I went to the Traffic Bureau. They both said to me that they are not processing Motorbike licenses for foreigners. I have asked friends in different parts of GuangDong and same answer. It seems that GuangDong has stopped accepting applications for motorbike licenses from Foreigners.

That is complete news to me. There are a few "fixers" around who can help you out but they are bloody expensive (10000 RMB). Hoping some of the more experienced members here can chime in with better advice.

    NuHaus,
I've spoke to a couple of agents and the cost is about the 10,000 rmb you mentioned, but I would prefer to do it the right way and spend a reasonable amount. Apparently the going rate for a Chinese national to buy his license is around 800 rmb !!!!

    Prince 666,
I seem to have worn out my list of friends, at least in GuangDong.

Not sure how this is supposed to work. My understanding is that your license has to be gotten in the same place as your Z visa. Even if you get a temporary registration in another city or province the traffic bureau looks at your passport first.
