two chinese reg'd bikes available in germany

Hi everyone

My best riding buddy and his wife rode two bikes from Beijing to Munich in late summer 2013.
It took them 43 days, thereof 2 rest days only, to complete the ride.

The bikes, a YBR 250 and a Qianjiang, legally Jing B registered, are now nearby Munich and available to be be purchased and to be rode back to China.
The only technical problems during the whole trip were a flat on the Qianjiang and a torn chain on the YBR.

Congratulations to your riding buddies! Attests to both German and Chinese strength.

In my little mind, one usually keeps trudging on because the destination is attractive (e.g., getting back home to Germany). But, leaving Germany and shooting for China? Hmmmm, I'd have to think about that one!

They had a blog going, right? I can't find it. is it still up? If so, can you share the link? I'm curious about their border experiences with B plates. I'd assume that they were company registered bikes?

Nice one! I would if i could, since half of my family lives in Munich... but i'm in Kunming.

One questions popped up right now. There could be a problem with inspection of the bikes back in Beijing, because the registered owner (your friends) must appear there too.

Great story. If I had heard about this a couple of months ago I would have been intrigued. But I'm in Shanghai now so it's too late.

However, I'd be greatly interested in the route that the two have been taken since I'm thinking about this once my China contact is over.

Border experiences have been generally good, even as they left China.
The bikes are registered in the name of some Chinese folks in BJ.

China - Kazakhstan - Russia - Ukraine - Slovakia - Austria - Germany

This would definitely be an interesting trip back into China. I wonder what issues they had to encounter on the way there. I can't read german so too bad :(

-Is it possible to ride Turkey-Georgia-Russian rebellious States-Kazakhstan? Or too dangerous?
-How annoying is it to get a Russian visa?
-What are the approximate visa and fuel costs?

They simply don't need the bikes as they have bikes in Germany :D
To ride in Turkey is no problem, for Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan you will need visas, which are difficult to get. Russian visa should be pretty straight forward for you.
There are visa agents in the UK, who can get you pretty much any visa you need.
